Description
Coaching and mentoring are two important skills for any level leader. A large responsibility as a leader is to boost employee performance – coaching and mentoring enables for that responsibility to be accomplished.
Mentoring is a process of relationship building and is a longer-term process. It requires relationship building because it is based on mutual trust and respect. When we mentor employees, we provide them guidance toward achieving their long-term goals; even if those goals mean they eventually leave the organization.
Coaching, on the other hand; is for a shorter period of time. We may provide both coaching and mentoring to the same employee. Coaching is focused on helping an employee overcome a barrier, gain a new skill, or resolve a problem they are having.
When you apply coaching and mentoring techniques, you are able to achieve consistent and higher performance from your team. Coaching and mentoring enable for driving growth and for overcoming barriers to progress.
Developing your skills as a coach and mentor helps in solving performance problems and developing team member capabilities.
This workshop focuses on using the GROW model to effectively coach and mentor your team members. Attendees will leave with a draft strategy for coaching and mentoring their team members. Activities include: mini case studies, discussions, and role plays.
